1. The per hectare yield of the new species of Xanthoceras sorbifolia is five or seven times that of spontaneous ones.

2. The new species of Xanthoceras sorbifolia will bear fruits for a hundred years from two or three years after its seed was sown.

3. Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) –– The Economic Forest Institute under the Academy of Forestry of the Ministry of Land and Environment Conservation has developed new species of short walnut and Xanthoceras sorbifolia.

4. Among them are Aronia melanocarpa, Hippophae rhamnoides and chestnut tree which are of great economic value. Ѓ@In order to mass–propagate white pine–nut tree to be sent to different parts of the country, they are widely applying the grafting propagation method to various experimental farms while making researches into cultivating a new species of poplar tree in mountainous areas. Ѓ@The institute has experience not only in breeding a new species of walnut tree higher in the rate of harvest than the existing ones and a highly productive Xanthoceras sorbifolia that can be cultivated in cold areas but also in mass–producing them. Ѓ@The institute is also nursing lots of saplings of Aronia melanocarpa with various physiological activators, vitamins and other elements good for health on the basis of the successes made in perfecting its cultivation method and the method of processing its fruit.
